The Property is located to the South on Heritage Hill Estate. The Development is aimed to created a "Village in the City". The environment has a sense of place as if it is far removed from the City. The Site is on the South of a East-West Street.

The Planning was influenced by the Strict Estate Building + Aesthetic Guidelines which forms part of the Heritage Hill Urban Design Framework. The Architectural Language derives its inspiration from Historical Regional Architecture and responds to the Local Architecture and Climate.

Starting with the planning of the House, the placement was determined by the Required Minimum 70% Front Zone Coverage for the first 5 meters. The Layout and Structure followed by the Functions and Spaces as required by the client, extending the Spaces to the South on a narrow longitudinal North-South Site.

 

The layout of spaces were aimed on the idea of Public vs Private Spaces. The streetscape being Public, the Garages and detached Workshop being Semi-Public and becoming Semi-Private towards South with Open Living, Kitchen, Dining and Entertainment areas. Private spaces like Bedrooms followed placed furthest away from the Northern Street Boundary, while all Bedrooms having a North Facing facade with natural sunlight. These Bedrooms open with swinging doors leading onto a private courtyard towards the South.
